The Choice of Intimacy with God We were created to have relationship and fullness in our Creator. Aside from intimacy with our ‘Knitter and Knower” we are living far below our Christian privilege as believers. However, we have a choice. Sin separated and broke our intimate relationship with our Creator. He loves us so much that He sent His only begotten Son to die for us and restore that broken relationship. But alas, we still have a choice to accept that free gift of our Salvation and redemption through the restorative work of His Son, Jesus. Once we are saved by receiving God’s grace and forgiveness through Christ, we still have choices to make. Daily decisions to die to our selfish nature and to live for His purposes and greater glory. This is a decision to walk in a daily relationship and intimacy with Him through His Word, worship and fellowship with the saints. Intimacy can be reworded as “into-me-you-see”. We need to gaze into the riches of a full disclosure relationship with our Savior. We need to hide with Him in the secret places. Choosing an intimate close dependence with God brings peace, wisdom and strength. Intimacy doesn’t bring instant selfish answers, but it brings a deep and satisfying joy and peace beyond all understanding. It takes time to develop this prized relationship and is worth a million times the effort to seek and search such. Intimacy with my Lord has brought the greatest satisfaction to my life. He is the only safe love affair of your deepest heart. He loved you enough to die for you and wants to live through you bringing forth your purpose and wholeness. Are you sick and tired of carrying the heavy yoke of your life? Do you often feel unsure, overwhelmed or near the end of your rope? This exhausted place is filled with purpose if it will lead you to the all-fulfilling intimacy with your Knitter and Knower, your Savior. He is always beckoning us, but the weight of the world just highlights our need for something more. We are being called back into our first relationship. He loved us, knew us and numbered our days before there was one of them. Jump off the fast-paced exhausting treadmill of your life, and jump into the secret place of intimacy with the Most High. Imagine you’re in a slow dance with your greatest Lover and then never step away. Ponder: What would it be like to be completely known and completely loved? To be completely safe and secure and alive? What keeps you from investing in your relationship with your Creator? Prayer: Lord, You knew me before You knit me in my mother’s womb.
