Peace In Your Pain

DAY 2 OF 7

Beloved, Everyone wants it. It’s the precious gift of peace amidst the storms of life. The Apostle Peter stepped out of the boat right during the middle of a treacherous storm, and began walking toward Jesus on top of the water. As long as he focused on Jesus, he was at peace and oblivious to the stormy waves that were crashing around him. As soon as he took his eyes off of the Jesus and focused on what was going on around him, he became fearful and he ended up getting swallowed up by the waves. Our circumstances may not change, but our attitude can and that is enough to find His peace. Peter had to lose his fear and take a giant leap of faith to step out of that boat and Christ calls us to take that same step of faith as well. We are called to go beyond our comfort zone to reach the peace and comfort that Christ offers. Listen! Honestly, the world cannot give us Christ’s peace, but it can’t take it away from us either.  Right now, in this moment we can surrender our peace in Christ by shifting our focus from Jesus and allowing our deepest fears and anxieties become more powerful than our faith. Or we can rise up and stand on the waves of chaos and move toward the only person who can keep us afloat, the choice is yours. I challenge you to find the confidence in God’s presence today, so that you may step out in courage. I challenge you to let go of all the futile things which holds you back and step out in God’s power to joyfully receive the peace that Jesus is offering you today. Jesus will calm the waves. Trust Him.
