The Second Birth: New Believers

DAY 7 OF 7

Making Jesus Lord There are two parts to being a Christian. First, you must accept Jesus as your Savior. Second, and much more difficult, you must make Jesus your Lord—the “undisputed boss”! There is just enough ego in each of us to want to be in control, and that part of us must be crucified daily. When Jesus is Lord of your life, He decides where you will go, and the person you’ll become. If you want to know the cost of making Jesus Lord, it will cost all you have. So here’s the question: what value do you place on your relationship with Christ? We trust that you are growing in your understanding of just how awesome it is to be a part of God’s redeemed family! Walking in faith, utilizing your gifts, conversing with your Savior, feeding on His Word—all these rights, privileges, benefits, and responsibilities that come with family membership are yours! Once you enter into a personal relationship with Christ, He begins a process of relieving your pain, revealing your true value, and releasing your gifts. Bit by bit, He restores everything Satan has stolen from you. And while all this is happening, you are positioned securely “in Christ.” Therefore, you’re always acceptable to Him. Today, as you spend time with Jesus, thank Him for this amazing, unconditional gift, and walk forward in the confidence that you’re forever loved, saved, and created with a purpose! We hope you have enjoyed this reading plan. For more information on The Word For You Today, visit this [ page ](https://www.wordforyou.com/) .
