The small details in life often go overlooked. Most people go throughout their days focused on the big picture rather than enjoying the present moment. Today's fast-paced culture teaches us to focus on the next event or task. Being present and showing kindness is often viewed as an inconvenience instead of something important and necessary. We all can add to this list of things that occupy our time: homework, chores, practice, friends, social media, sports, family... the list goes on. In the busyness of life, there is still time to show others God’s love through small acts of kindness. Auriel Zimmer explores this approach as she shows love to other students in small ways.

Showing kindness does not have to be hard. A simple word of encouragement to a student stressed about grades can express God’s love. God provides peace to those who realize that the things of this world are nothing compared to what He has for us. In the book of Jeremiah it says God has a plan for our future, and it is good! The hard part is trusting Him as we live out our days in a world with so many distracting things that take our focus.
