Kholwani nguJehova uNkulunkulu wenu, niyakuqiniswa; kholwani ngabaprofethi bakhe, niyakuphumelela. Ngemva kokubonisana nabantu, wabeka abahlabeleli enkazimulweni kaJehova ukuze badumise inkazimulo engcwele lapho bephuma phambi kwebutho, futhi bathi: “Dumisani uJehova! ngokuba umusa wakhe umi phakade. Lapho sebeqala ukuhlabelela nokudumisa, uJehova wabeka abaqamekeli babantwana bakwa-Amoni, nabakwaMowabi, nasezintabeni zaseSeyiri ababefikele uJuda; bashaywa. Abantwana bakwa-Amoni nabakwaMowabi bavukela abakhileyo ezintabeni zaseSeyiri ukuba babashaye ngesiqalekiso, bababhubhise; UJuda esefika embhoshongweni wokulinda ehlane, babheka isixuku, bheka, kwakuyizidumbu eziwele phansi, kungaphunyuki muntu. Lapho uJehoshafati nabantu bakhe befika ukuzothatha impango kubo, bathola phakathi kwabo ingcebo eningi kanye nezidumbu nezinto eziyigugu abazithathela zona, babengenakumuka nabo; baba yizinsuku ezintathu bebutha impango, yayiningi kakhulu. Ngosuku lwesine babuthana esigodini saseBeraga; ngoba lapho bamdumisa uJehova; ngalokho igama laleyo ndawo laqanjwa ngokuthi: Isigodi saseBeraga kuze kube namuhla. Base bebuya bonke abantu bakwaJuda naseJerusalema, uJehoshafati ephambi kwabo ukuba babuyele eJerusalema ngokujabula; ngoba uJehova wenza ukuba bajabule phezu kwezitha zabo. Bafika eJerusalema bephethe amahabhu nezingubhu namacilongo endlini kaJehova. Ukwesaba uNkulunkulu kwaba phezu kwayo yonke imibuso yalawo mazwe lapho isizwa ukuthi uJehova wayelwile nezitha zakwa-Israyeli. Umbuso kaJehoshafati wawuzola, ngokuba uNkulunkulu wakhe wamnika ukuphumula nxazonke.
