treasured the words of his mouth
Even though in the book of Job, Job is working hard to state his innocence while his friends keep insisting that there is some sin in his life that is causing him suffering, Job's comment in the verse about God's word is something we don't hear people say all that often these days. Job says his treasures God's word more than his daily bread.
It reminds my of King David writing in Psalm 119 when he says that he loves God's commands and his word more than gold.
We often say that it's important to read the bible and we even keep track of how many days in a row we have read it. But I wonder if we treasure it? Do we really view it as more precious than Gold?
If we did how would that change the way that we approach scripture? How would that change our relationship w/ God and his word?
