The Eternal GospelНамуна

The Gospel Preached Through Abraham.
The gospel was modelled again in the life of Abraham. God was telling a story of redemption through the events that unfolded in his life, beginning with the promise He made to him (Genesis 12:1-3).
God promised Abraham that in his seed (one seed, not many seeds), all the nations of the earth would be blessed. The seed wasn't Isaac, though Isaac came as a typology of it. Jesus was the promised seed that would bruise the head of the serpent, the seed in which all the nations of the earth would be blessed (Acts 3:25-26).
The seed of Abraham is Jesus. The blessing was salvation through Jesus Christ. So, God was saying, ‘In Christ would all the nations of the earth receive salvation'. This is the reality today. Only in Jesus can any man be saved (Acts 4:12).
Not only that, but the Father also captured the death of His only son through the near sacrifice of Isaac by his own father, Abraham. Abraham leading Isaac, his beloved Son, to the place of sacrifice was a prophetic picture.
Isaac carrying the wood for the sacrifice on his head signifies how Christ would carry the real wood, the cross, on which he would be slain (Genesis 22:2). It also shows us in advance that the Father himself was going to crush and sacrifice his beloved son for our sins.
Jesus Christ is the lamb that was slain to take away the sins of the world, a fulfillment of the prophetic picture of the ram that was sacrificed in the stead of Isaac. The ram took Isaac's place. The Son will take our place. Recall the words of the Prophet Isaiah: He was bruised for our sake (Isaiah 53:5).
The sacrifice for sin has been paid once and for all. His blood has covered all. What a privilege we have!
Prayer Focus:
Thank you, Jesus, for giving yourself to be slain for my sin. I receive your salvation. Help me not to take lightly what you did for me on the cross.
