The Eternal GospelНамуна

The Gospel in the Beginning
The gospel as a promise began in the very first pages of Scripture. Long before the prophets, long before the cross, God revealed His plan of redemption in the garden of Eden.
When Adam and Eve sinned and the fellowship between God and man was broken, He declared a promise in His judgment. In His words to the serpent, God said, “The seed of the woman shall bruise your head, and you shall bruise his heel” (Genesis 3:15).
That single verse contains the essence of the gospel. It is the announcement that sin would not have the final word. It is the revelation that the fall of man was not beyond redemption.
In that moment, God revealed His plan to bring salvation through the seed of the woman. That seed was Christ, who would come to destroy the works of the devil and restore what Adam lost.
This promise was not a last-minute rescue plan. It was an eternal design.
Long before creation, Christ was already chosen as the Lamb that would be slain for the redemption of humanity (1 Peter 1:19–20). The cross was not God’s reaction to sin; it was His response from eternity.
What happened in the garden could not prevent what had already been settled in the heart of God concerning man. The message of the gospel begins with this truth: that from the very beginning, God desired to reconcile man to Himself.
The fall did not take Him by surprise. The serpent did not prevail. Even in judgment, God extended mercy. The same voice that pronounced the curse also proclaimed the cure.
Prayer Focus:
Lord, thank You for the revelation of Your love from the beginning. Thank You that even when man fell, You already had a plan to redeem and restore. Help me to live each day with gratitude for the gospel that was written in Your heart before time began.
