A Simple Prayer.....

Isaiah 9:6 –For a child is born to us, a son is given to us. The government will rest on his shoulders. And he will be called: Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.(NLT)

Hebrews 12:2a -We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith. (NLT)

Lord, as we draw closer to Christmas Day, may we draw closer to You!'

These were the words of a prayer at the beginning of a sermon this week at my local church. This is my own heart cry and my prayer for you all.

Questions for reflection: Have I spent time reflecting on the birth of Jesus this month? What one thing can I add to my Christmas traditions that will bring me closer to Jesus this year? Have I found a way to invite a friend, colleague or family member to draw closer to Jesus during this season?
