Following Jesus at ChristmasНамуна

Abraham was called the father of faith and the natural ancestor of the future blessing to all nations. Ultimately, the blessing of God would come through the descendants of Abraham when Jesus was born in the manger. Notice that Jesus came through the family line of the father of faith. It’s by and through faith that we’ll see the purposes and promises of God realized in our lives.
Much of life will try to drain faith out of us, so we must keep our eyes fixed on Jesus. Notice that the entrance of Jesus through Abraham’s line was about the blessing it would bring. You can be confident that God desires to show you His kindness, favor, and blessing. Too many see God as a cosmic correctional officer just waiting for them to make a wrong move so He can punish them, when, in fact, we see that God is looking for ways to love us and bless us.
Reflection
- Where have I stopped trusting and believing God?
- What promise of God do I need to believe Him for again?
God desires me to walk in His blessing and the heritage of grace and mercy that Jesus came to give.

About this Plan

Over the next twenty-five days, let’s celebrate the entrance of Jesus and the salvation He purchased. Like Mary did so many years ago, let’s make room for Jesus in our lives by making daily space and time for His Word. We encourage you to read the verse each day and reflect on Jesus’ character and nature. You’ll find that the more you study the Word of God, the more your life will begin to look like Jesus! This devotional will reflect on the humble and triumphant entrance of our Prince of Peace, Savior, Lord, and King.
