We live in a time where the church speaks the same language, uses the same jargon, and spouts the same perspectives as a world in darkness. The evangelical church has often been willing to reevaluate what it has long believed in response to the world’s social consciousness and moral outrage; yet the world has proven it has no conscience nor respect for what is genuinely moral according to Scripture.

In the second installment of a three-part series, Dr. Ramesh Richard, president of RREACH (a Global Proclamation Ministry) and professor at Dallas Theological Seminary, offers additional thoughts on how adversity and disruption provide not only an "Identity Check" (Part 1), but also a "Maturity Check" for the Believer. Ultimately, there is freedom in living our lives under the shadow and the empowerment of our Trinitarian Christian Faith.

People on Earth are at different spiritual levels, and this diversity is influenced by personal experiences, upbringing, exposure to faith, and individual choices. The Bible recognizes that believers are at different stages of spiritual maturity, and understanding how people at varying spiritual levels interact with God’s Word, His call, can provide insight into how God is working in the world; people of varying spiritual levels need Christ in their lives.

Spiritual growth doesn’t happen overnight. It’s the result of pursuing Jesus—little by little, day by day—until our perspective shifts and our lives center more fully on Him and His plans. In this 4-day plan, we’ll explore the question, “What does it look like to pursue spiritual maturity?” Together, we’ll let Scripture examine our hearts, challenge our habits, and help us grow fruit that lasts.
