In the United States of America, one of the most renowned awards is the ‘Congress Medal of Honor’. In the whole history of the States, only 3000 Americans have been given that honor. By a curious coincidence, once a father and his son were simultaneously awarded that honor for their respective individual and separate services of different kinds. The father received it in 1909, when he retired as a very superior officer in the Army. At the same time, the son received this high honor for his meritorious service in the battle field when the American Army fought against Philippines. His exploits in the battle were acclaimed not only in America but all through the world. This young man was General Mac Arthur and his father was Arthur Mac Arthur. The father put his son in the Army with the fond hope that he should also be blessed and honored like him. The son fulfilled his father’s desire and established his father’s name in the book of glory. 

My friend, this is how your deeds on earth should glorify the Father in heaven. If you keenly look for opportunities in your everyday activities, there will definitely be something for you to glorify the Father. So do not hide your light, but let it shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your heavenly Father.

“Loving Father, thank You for speaking to me through this word today. Let the works of my hand and praises of my heart be pleasing in Your sight. I pray in Jesus’ name that in everything I do, I will glorify You, my Father in heaven. Amen.”
