Kana ariwana, unoriisa pamafudzi ake, acifara. Kana aȿika kumusha, unokokera shamŋari dzake naʋakaʋaka naye, akati kwaʋari: Farai neni, nokuti ndawana gwai raŋgu rakaŋga rakarashika. Ndinoti kwamuri, saiɀoɀo mufaro ucaʋa kuɗeŋga pamsoro pomutadzi mumŋe unotendeʋuka, kupfuʋura paʋakarurama ʋanamakumi mapfumbamŋe naʋapfumbamŋe, ʋasiŋgatȿaki kutendeʋuka.
Ndoupiko mukadzi unamadrakema anegumi, kana arashikirwa nerimŋe, uŋgarega kutuŋgidza mŋenje, akatȿaira imba, akatȿakisisa, kuȿikira ariwana? Kana ariwana, unokokera hama dzake naʋakaʋaka naye, akati kwaʋari: Farai neni, nokuti ndawana drakema randakaŋga ndarashikirwa naro. Mazuʋa mashoma akati apfuʋura, mŋanakomana muɗuku akaʋuŋganidza ɀose, akaenda kunyika iri kure; akaparadza’ko nhaka yake acifamba nemitoʋo yakaipa. Ɀino wakati apedza ɀose, nzara huru ikaȿika panyika iyo, akataŋga kushaiwa. Ipapo akaenda, akandoɀiisa kunomumŋe waʋanhu ʋenyika iyo; iye akamutumira kuminda yake, kundofudza ŋguruʋe. Wakaŋga aciɗa kuɀigutsa namateko aidyiwa neŋguruʋe; asi kwakaŋga kusinomunhu waimupa. Ɀino wakati aciɀifuŋga, akati: Ʋaranda ʋazhinji sei ʋaɓaɓa ʋaŋgu ʋaneɀokudya ɀakawandisa, asi ini ndofa pano nenzara. Ndicasimuka, ndiende kunaɓaɓa ʋaŋgu, nditi kwaʋari: Ƃaɓa, ndatadzira kuɗeŋga, napamberi penyu, handicafaniri kunzi mŋanakomana wenyu; mundiite somumŋe waʋaranda ʋenyu. Akasimuka, akaenda kunaɓaɓa ʋake. Wakati aciri kure, ɓaɓa ʋake ʋakamuʋona, ʋakamunzwira tsitsi, ʋakamhanya, ndokumufuŋgatira, nokumuȿeta. Mŋanakomana akati kwaʋari: Ƃaɓa, ndatadzira kuɗeŋga napamberi penyu, handicafaniri kunzi mŋanakomana wenyu. Asi ɓaɓa ʋakati kuʋaranda ʋaʋo: Kurumidzai, muʋuye neŋguʋo yakaiȿo‐naka, mumupfekedze iyo; muise mhete pamunwe wake, neshaŋgu patsoka dzake; muʋuye nemhure yakakodzwa, muiɓaye, tidye, tifare; nokuti mŋanakomana waŋgu uyu wakaŋga afa, wararama ɀe; wakaŋga arashika, wawanika ɀe Ɀino ʋakataŋga kufara. Mŋanakomana wake weɗaŋgwe wakaŋga ari kumunda; ɀino wakati aciȿika, acisweɗera paimba, ndokunzwa kuimba nokutamba. Ipapo akaɗanira kwaari mumŋe waʋaranda, akamubvunza kuti iɀi ɀinyiko. Akati kwaari: Munuŋuna wako waȿika, ɀino ɓaɓa ʋako ʋaɓaya mhuru yakakodzwa, nokuti ʋamuwana ɀe ari mupenyu. Asi iye wakatsamŋa, akaramba kupinda. Ɀino ɓaɓa ʋake ʋakaɓuɗa, ʋakakumbira ɀikuru kwaari. Asi iye wakapindura, akati kunaɓaɓa ʋake: Tarirai, ndakakuɓatirai makore awa mazhinji, ndisiŋgatoŋgoɗariki murairo wenyu, asi hamuna‐kutoŋgondipa mbudzana, kuti ndifare neshamŋari dzaŋgu. Asi mŋanakomana wenyu uyu, wakaparadza fuma yenyu neɀifeʋe, wakati aciȿika, mamuɓayira mhuru yakakodzwa. Iʋo ʋakati kwaari: Mŋana waŋgu, iwe uneni ŋguʋa dzose, ɀose ɀaŋgu ndeɀako.
