VICTORY OVER IDENTITY CRISIS & ADDICTIONSනියැදිය

Day 2: Seeing Yourself in God’s Mirror
Scripture: “But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror.” — James 1:22–23 (NKJV)
Have you ever looked into a mirror and thought, “Wow, I look so good today!” I’ve felt that way many times—especially after getting a fresh haircut (LOL). I instantly feel like the newest, freshest guy in town!
But a mirror does more than just make us admire ourselves. It also helps us notice what needs adjustment—a crooked tie, a stain, or an untidy shirt. The mirror reveals what’s true in the moment so we can make corrections.
The Word of God works the same way, but with one major difference: it doesn’t show us who we are in the moment—it shows us who we are in Christ. It reveals our true image, not to condemn us, but to transform us.
Sadly, many people approach the Bible like the Law of Moses. They open it expecting judgment, not love. They think God’s Word exists to expose their sins, so they avoid it altogether. But that’s far from the truth. God’s Word is a mirror of grace. It shows us the righteousness and identity we already have in Christ, convicting us to grow into that image.
Imagine walking through a mall and spotting a designer outfit priced at $1,500. You think, “I can’t afford that!” But then your phone buzzes—you just received a dividend of $100,000 from an investment. Instantly, your confidence changes. Why? Because your perception of yourself changed.
In the same way, when you discover who you are in God’s mirror, your mindset shifts. You stop living in fear or guilt and start walking in confidence—Godfidence.
Reflection:
When you read God’s Word, do you see yourself condemned or desire to be transformed?
Prayer & Confession
Lord, thank You for Your Word that reflects my true identity. Help me see myself the way You see me. As I look into Your mirror, teach me to live boldly as Your beloved child. Amen.
