“ඒ දවසේ දාවිත් වංශිකයින්ට හා යෙරුසලම් වාසීන්ට ඔවුන්ගේ පාප හා දූෂ්‍යතාවලින් පවිත්‍ර වනු පිණිස, උල්පතක් විවර වන්නේ ය. “ඒ දවසේ මම, දේව පිළිමවල නාම පවා දේශයෙන් තුරන් කරන්නෙමි. ඉන්පසු කිසිවකුත් ඒවා ගැන සිහිපත් කරනු නැතැ” යි සේනාංකවල ස්වාමින්වහන්සේ ප්‍රකාශ කරන සේක. “දිවැසිවරුන් ද අපවිත්‍ර ආත්ම ද යන දෙගොල්ල ම මම මේ දේශයෙන් පහ කර දමන්නෙමි. යමෙක් තවදුරටත් දිවැසි වැකි කියයි නම්, ඔහු ජනිත කළ ඔහුගේ ම පියා හා මව ඔහු අමතමින්, ‘ස්වාමින්වහන්සේගේ නාමයෙන් නුඹ මුසාව කතා කළ නිසා නුඹ තවත් ජීවත් විය යුතු නැතැ’ යි කියමින්, ඔහු දිවැසි වැකි පවසන කල, ඔහුගේ ම මවු පියන් ඔහුට ඇන, මරා දමනු ඇත. “ඒ දවසේ හැම දිවැසිවරයකු ම තමාගේ අනාවැකි දර්ශනය ගැන ලජ්ජා වනු ඇත. ලෝමයෙන් කළ දිවැසිවර වස්ත්‍ර, ඔහු රැවටිලිකාරී ව අඳින්නේ ද නැත. තවද ඔහු, ‘මා දිවැසිවරයෙක් නො වේ. මම ගොවියෙක්මි. ගැටවර වියේ සිට ම මගේ ජීවිකාව වූයේ බිම වගා කිරීම යැ’ යි කියනු ඇත. ‘ඔබේ ඇඟේ ඇති ඔය තුවාල කැළැල් මොනවා දැ?’ යි එවිට යමකු ඔහුගෙන් ඇසුවහොත්, ‘මේවා මගේ මිතුරන්ගේ ගෙදරදී මා ලද තුවාල යැ’ යි ඔහු පිළිතුරු දෙනු ඇත. “එම්බා අසිපත, මගේ එඬේරාට එරෙහිව, මට සමීප මිනිසාට එරෙහිව නැගිටිනු!” යි සේනාංකවල ස්වාමින්වහන්සේ ප්‍රකාශ කරන සේක. “එඬේරාට පහර දෙනු; එවිට බැටළුවෝ විසුරුවනු ලබති. එවිට කුඩාවුන්ට එරෙහිව මම මගේ අත හරවන්නෙමි. මුළු දේශයෙන් ම තුනෙන් දෙකොටසක් ගසා හෙළා, වනසා දමනු ඇත. එහෙත්, තුනෙන් කොටසක් ඒ තුළ ඉතිරි කෙරෙනු ඇතැ” යි ස්වාමින්වහන්සේ ප්‍රකාශ කරන සේක. “මෙම තුනෙන් කොටස, මම ගිනි මැදින් ගෙනෙන්නෙමි. රිදී පවිත්‍ර කරන්නා සේ මම ඔවුන් පවිත්‍ර කරන්නෙමි. රන් පරීක්ෂා කරන්නා සේ මම ඔවුන් පරීක්ෂා කරන්නෙමි. ඔවුන් මගේ නාමයට යාච්ඤා කරනු ඇත. මම ද ඔවුන්ට පිළිතුරු දෙන්නෙමි. ‘මගේ ජනතාව ඔවුන් යැ’ යි මම ඔවුන්ට කියමි. ‘ස්වාමින්වහන්සේ මගේ දෙවියන්වහන්සේ’ යැයි ඔවුන් ද කියනු ඇත.”

The Lent Project is an initiative of Biola University's Center for Christianity, Culture and the Arts. Each daily devotion includes a portion of Scripture, a devotional, a prayer, a work of visual art or a video, a piece of music, and a poem plus brief commentaries on the artworks and artists. The Seven Last Words of Christ refers to the seven short phrases uttered by Jesus on the cross, as gathered from the four Christian gospels. This devotional project connects word, image, voice and song into daily meditations on these words.

Like Haggai, Zechariah prophesies during the post-exilic period as Israel began resettling in the Promised Land. Zechariah encourages Israel to remain faithful and prophesies of a coming righteous King who will bring salvation to His people (Zechariah 9:10). This book reminds us that we too must be to what God has called us to, always hopefully anticipating when God Himself “will be king over all the earth” (Zechariah 14:9).
Biola University's Center for Christianity, Culture & the Arts is pleased to share the annual Advent Project, a daily devotional series celebrating the beauty and meaning of the Advent season through art, music, poetry, prayer, Scripture, and written devotions. The project starts on the first day of Advent and continues through Epiphany.
