අහසින් යට ලොව හැම ජාතියකින් ම වූ භක්තිවන්ත යුදෙව්වරු මෙකල්හි යෙරුසලමේ විසූහ. ඒ හඬ ඔවුන්ට ඇසුණු කල, ඒ කිමෙක්දැයි බැලීමට එක් රොක් වූ සමූහයා ඉන් අන්දමන්ද වූයේ, තම තමන්ගේ භාෂාවෙන් ඔවුන් කතා කරනු ඇසුණු නිසා ය. විස්මයෙන් වික්ෂිප්ත වූ ඔවුහු, කතා කරමින්, “මෙලෙස කතා කරන මේ සියල්ලෝ ගලීලයින් නො වෙත් ද? එසේ නම් අපේ ම භාෂාවලින් මොවුන් කතා කරනු අප එකිනෙකාට ඇහෙන්නේ කොහොම ද? පාර්තිවරුන්, මේදීයවරුන් හා එලාමිවරුන් ද මෙසපොතාමියා, යුදය, කප්පදෝකිය, පොන්තස්, ආසියා, පිරිගිය, පම්පිලිය, ඊජිප්තුව සහ සිරේනියට අයත් ලිබියේ පළාත් යන දේශ දේශයන්හි වැසියන් ද රෝමයෙන් පැමිණි අමුත්තන් ද යුදෙව්වරුන් හා යූදා දහම වැලඳගත් වෙනත් ජාතීන් ද ක්‍රීත්වරුන් හා අරාබිවරුන් ද වන අපට දෙවියන්වහන්සේගේ බලවත් ක්‍රියා ගැන අපේ ම භාෂාවන්ගෙන් ඔවුන් කතා කරන හඬ ඇසේ යැ” යි කීවෝ ය.
