Dealing With Low Self EsteemSample

Dealing With Low Self Esteem

DAY 1 OF 6

The Source of Your Worth

Modern culture teaches that your value comes from how you see yourself or from the opinions of those you give attention to. In other words, your life becomes the sum total of the voices you listen to.

Man is a product of influence. The way you laugh, talk, and even the words you use often come from people you have listened to or admired.

But if man is truly a product of influence, then an important question must be asked: Why is God not your greatest influencer?

Imagine that someone you greatly admire offered to adopt you as their child and promised you constant access to them. That would feel incredibly valuable.

Now consider something even greater: God lives in you.
You are God's temple. You are His house.

Does that reality carry the same weight in your heart?

When it comes to self-esteem, you must understand something foundational: man's worth is bestowed.

Why do you matter?

You matter because God assigned meaning to you.

Modern self-esteem says your value comes from how you view yourself.
But the Bible teaches something deeper: man is valuable because God gave him value.

At the root of low self-esteem is a dangerous habit—valuing your opinion above God's Word.

You start placing more weight on human validation than on what God has already said about you.

In Scripture, man's value is intrinsic. Man is valuable simply because he is man. His worth is built into him by God.

You were created in the image of God. No other created being carries that kind of value.

Before you were even formed, God already saw you.
When you say you feel unseen, remember that God has always seen you.

His thoughts toward you are precious. Place greater value on God's thoughts about you than on any other voice.

For too long, many believers have held on to identities that are not theirs in Christ. It is unfortunate when believers allow social media and culture to define their understanding more than Scripture.

Read Psalm 139 carefully and you will see something beautiful: God pays attention to you at every stage of life.

Man is valuable because God created man.

When we say you are made in the image of God, we are not talking about your physical appearance. We are talking about the fact that you represent God.

You are His ambassador.

God placed value on you. Yet many believers still seek validation from others as if God's estimation is not enough.

But the manufacturer determines the value of a product—not the product itself.

Scripture tells us that we are the workmanship of God, created in Christ Jesus.

Value has already been assigned to you.

If you do not see this clearly, you will spend your life trying to earn validation from people.

Your self-esteem should not come from how you see yourself or how others see you. It must come from how God sees and values you.

About this Plan

Dealing With Low Self Esteem

This devotional is a straight conversation about self esteem from the lens of God’s Word. In a world where people define their worth by opinions, validation, achievements, or social media, the Bible reveals something different — man’s worth is grounded in creation, not performance. Across these six days, we will look into the scriptures to understand God’s estimation of man, confront the roots of low self esteem, and learn to see ourselves the way God sees us. The goal is simple: to place God’s Word above feelings, opinions, and human validation.
