Ash Wednesday: Look Up to God!

For the next 40 days, we will walk with Jesus. We will learn how much God loves us, so much that He even sent His Son, Jesus, for us.

During Lent, we remember that God made us from dust (earth). He made us good because He loves us. But we are only people, people who sometimes get sick, get hurt, and one day grow old. But the wonderful news is: we are never alone.

Jesus reminds us that we don’t walk this Lent journey alone. He walks with us, and the Holy Spirit works in our hearts along the way. Today, when you look at the sky, maybe you see clouds, or blue sky, or even rain. Remember: God made all of it on purpose!

Psalm 121 says that God watches over us all the time, day and night. He doesn’t get tired, and He never forgets about you.

Discuss / Write:

• When do you feel small or scared?
• What helps you remember that God is always close?

Do this:

1. Take a small bowl and put some sand or dust inside.
2. Use your finger to draw a cross in the sand.
3. Put it somewhere in your room where you will see it every day. It will remind you: “God is with me.”

Repeat-Prayer:

“Lord, help me remember and feel that You love me and are always with me. Amen.”
