Knowing All of God: Quiet Time and Stillness by Jackline Ingasian

DAY 1 OF 7

God’s Invitation to Be Still

Stillness is not weakness; it is obedience. God does not invite us to stillness to silence us, but to reveal Himself. When we pause, we acknowledge that He is sovereign and we are not. Today, allow yourself to stop striving. Sit with God, not to ask for answers, but to know Him more deeply.

We live in a world that celebrates movement, noise, and constant activity. Doing something always feels more productive than being still. Yet Scripture gently calls us to a different posture: “Be still, and know that I am God.” Stillness is not inactivity; it is intentional surrender. It is choosing to step out of the driver’s seat and trusting God enough to let Him lead.

Many of us come to God carrying long lists—prayer requests, worries, plans, and questions. None of these are wrong. But today, God is inviting you to something simpler and deeper: His presence. Before He solves your problems, He wants you to know His heart. Before He changes your circumstances, He wants to anchor your soul.

Stillness exposes how much we rely on our own strength. It reveals how uncomfortable we are with silence, and how quickly we want to fill it with words. But in quietness, we begin to hear what noise has been drowning out—the gentle assurance of God’s nearness, His peace, His steady voice.

Today, do not rush this moment. Do not perform. Do not strive. Simply come and sit with Him. Breathe. Rest. Let your heart settle in His presence. You do not need to impress Him. You do not need to explain yourself. You only need to be available.

Stillness is an act of trust. It says, “God, You are in control, and I am safe with You.” And in that sacred quiet, you will begin—not just to know about God—but to know Him.

About this Plan

Knowing All of God: Quiet Time and Stillness by Jackline Ingasian

In a world that celebrates noise and constant motion, God invites us into stillness. Quiet time is not about doing more for God, but about being with Him. It is in still moments that our hearts soften, our minds settle, and we learn to recognize His voice. Stillness teaches us trust—trust that God is at work even when we pause. When we choose silence before Him, we exchange anxiety for peace, confusion for clarity, and weariness for strength. In stillness, God restores our souls and reminds us who we are.
