Financial Discipleship – the Bible on Eternity

DAY 1 OF 7

“We fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.”

As humans, it’s hard to wrap our minds around the concept of eternity. All we know and have ever known is that everything comes to an end. And, of course, all good things come to an end. Except for one thing…

We know the wages of sin is death. Death of innocence. Death of purity. And death of life on earth. But through Christ and the blood He shed for our sins, life as we know it doesn’t have to cease here.

That’s the one, true good thing that will never come to an end, if we choose to believe in God and His Son, Jesus Christ.

Life is a gift. But eternal life with our Father in Heaven is the most precious gift we could ever receive. But do we always act like we know that?

Our world is now filled with the knowledge of good and evil. With it comes a trove of distractions that tear us away from God and the things that truly matter. Material possessions such as our houses, money, cars and jewelry are just a few of the distractions that move us further away from where we were called to be. And since they’re the only riches we can physically see, our ability to focus on the riches that actually stand the test of time and fire is hindered.

We’ve been taught to focus on what’s right in front of us… the here and now. We’ve been taught to only believe in the things that we can see with the naked eye. But how many of us know that our God is not a God of things seen?

The Lord exists in the natural and supernatural world. Just because we can’t always see Him, it doesn’t mean He’s not there. Provision… that’s God. Protection… that’s God. Creation and destruction… that’s God. Talents… that’s God. Purpose… that’s God. Prophecy… that’s God. Charity… that’s God. Love… that’s God. Miracles… that’s God. Forgiveness… that’s God. Life… that’s God.
