Sit Low. Live Lifted: Why the Low Seat Is Where You Were Meant to Be.Sample

Joy in the Low Place
Scripture
Philippians 2:3–9
“…He humbled Himself… therefore God exalted Him…”
Devotional Thought
We are not called to the low place to suffer miserably.
We are called there because God meets us there.
There is joy in humility because humility frees you:
- from comparison
- from pressure to impress
- from the weight of performance
- from the fear of losing status
In the low place, identity becomes grounded in Christ—not approval. You discover peace. You discover purpose. You discover compassion. And often, you discover God moving in ways you never expected.
If God chooses to exalt you, let it be His doing.
If He keeps you hidden, be content to be faithful.
Your calling is obedience, not elevation.
Prayer
Lord, help me delight in humility.
Give me joy in serving, even when unseen.
Let Your approval be enough for me.
Amen.
Personal Reflection
- Where am I chasing recognition?
- Can I find joy in simply being faithful?
Closing Note
“Whoever exalts himself will be humbled, but whoever humbles himself will be exalted.” — Matthew 23:12
Humility is not stepping down in value.
It is stepping into alignment with God.
