Sit Low. Live Lifted: Why the Low Seat Is Where You Were Meant to Be.

DAY 2 OF 3

Love the Ones Who Cannot Repay You

Scripture Focus

Luke 14:13–14
“Invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind… and you will be blessed.”

Devotional Thought

The world teaches us to prioritize people who benefit us—people who can help us, elevate us, open doors for us, or offer something back. Jesus flips that system completely.

He directs us toward those who:

  • cannot repay
  • cannot elevate
  • cannot return the favor
  • rarely receive honor

This is the heart of God.

Loving like Jesus requires shifting away from comfort and convenience. It means looking for the overlooked. It means sitting in low places with people society avoids. It means serving without applause and giving without recognition.

This is where Jesus spent His time.

And this is where He calls us to go.

Prayer

Lord, break my heart for what breaks Yours.

Help me see the people others overlook.

Teach me to love generously and without condition.

Amen.

Personal Reflection

  • Who do I naturally prioritize?
  • Who is God asking me to see differently?

About this Plan

Sit Low. Live Lifted: Why the Low Seat Is Where You Were Meant to Be.

"Sit Low. Live Lifted: Why the Low Seat Is Where You Were Meant to Be" is a 3-day devotional designed to realign your heart with Jesus’ teaching on humility from Luke 14. Each day explores what it truly means to choose the “low place,” why God honors humility, and how loving those who cannot repay reflects the heart of Christ. Through Scripture, reflection, and prayer, this plan invites you to release entitlement, embrace quiet faithfulness, and discover the unexpected joy and honor God reserves for those who choose to sit low and live lifted.
