Habakkuk: Wrestling With God and Trusting Him AnywaySample

The “Realm of Suppose” is the space where dreams live before they are real. It’s the mind’s playground — full of hopes, fears, wishes, and wonder. It’s where we go when we imagine what could have been or what might still be.
The Realm of Suppose is where grief and hope meet. It’s the space where our hearts try to make sense of what doesn’t make sense — where we speak the most honestly with God, like Habakkuk.
When we lose someone we love to addiction, we visit this place often. We cry out again and again, hoping for a different answer each time. But God doesn’t grow impatient with our wondering or weary of our grief. He doesn’t dismiss our questions or shame us for wishing things had turned out differently than His plan. Instead, He sits beside us to listen and offer His presence.
Reflection: Have you felt God’s presence in your grief? Have you sought out his comfort?

About this Plan

Inspired by Tammy Posey, who lost her son Benjamin Posey to addiction, this six-day devotional is designed for those grieving the loss of a loved one to addiction. If you’ve ever sat with unanswered questions, replayed painful memories, or wondered where God was in the middle of it all, this plan is for you. Through Habakkuk’s honest conversations with God, you’ll find permission to bring your own hurt, doubts, and “what ifs” into His presence.
