What Is Love?Sample

Love as an Action
Of what use is the statement “I love you” when every action says the opposite? Love is far more than a beautiful phrase; it is revealed through consistent actions and sincere reactions toward the one you claim to love.
God, the Author of love, demonstrated this truth by giving His only Son, Jesus Christ, to die for all humanity. His love was not merely spoken; it was sacrificial, visible, and life-changing. That is the clearest picture of true love.
If you desire to reciprocate God’s love, nothing should feel too costly to offer Him. The simplest and most meaningful response is obedience:
“For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments.” — 1 John 5:3 KJV
When you choose to obey God, you naturally extend genuine love to those around you. Love becomes a lifestyle, not a vocabulary word.
Today, make it your practice to love more in action than in theory — toward God and toward people.
Remember: Love is not merely what you say; it is what you do.
You will live a life that pleases God when you begin to see LOVE AS AN ACTION.
Reflection Questions
- In what ways have I relied more on words than actions to express love to God or others?
- What is one practical act of love I can show today to someone close to me?
- Is there something God has been prompting me to obey that I have delayed? Why?
- How can I make obedience a daily expression of my love for God?
- Who needs to experience God’s love through my actions this week?
