In the Beginning, God

The very first words of the Bible: “In the beginning, God...” (Genesis 1:1, NIV). Before the stars burned or oceans formed, before life began or time itself ticked, God already was. The Bible doesn’t argue for His existence—it assumes it. Everything starts with Him. That truth reorients our entire world. Life isn’t about you or me. It’s about Him—the Creator who speaks and galaxies appear, who designs and delights, who orders chaos into beauty. Yet this transcendent God, who needs nothing, chooses relationship. He forms the world not from loneliness, but from love.

Genesis 1 reveals a God of intentionality. Nothing is random. Every sunrise, every rhythm of night and day, every atom of your being exists because He willed it. And His creation was good—not just functionally sound, but morally beautiful and perfectly aligned with His heart.

“God said, ‘Let there be light,’ and there was light.” (Genesis 1:3, NIV). Pause and imagine that first dawn. Darkness scattered, light spilled across creation, and for the first time, the world began to hum with color and rhythm.

Good news: The same voice that said, “Let there be light,” still speaks into our darkness. The Creator hasn’t changed. When confusion clouds your mind or anxiety fills your heart, He is there, bringing order from chaos, naming what is good, and shining light where fear once lived. Creation isn’t just an ancient event—it’s a present reality. Every sunrise is a sermon of grace. Every heartbeat is a reminder that the story of the universe begins not with you striving, but with God speaking. And that same God still holds your story in His hands today.
