When You’re Carrying Too Much: A Gentle New Year ResetSample

DAY 1 — ACKNOWLEDGE THE WEIGHT
Scripture: Psalm 55:22 – “Cast your burden on the Lord, and He will sustain you; He will never permit the righteous to be moved.”
Reflection:
You’ve been carrying more than you were made to bear. Maybe it’s responsibilities at home, emotional labor, unresolved grief, or the weight of constant expectations. You might be exhausted, yet still pushing forward, hoping the load will somehow feel lighter on its own.
The first step toward relief is acknowledging the weight you’re carrying. Pretending it doesn’t exist only makes the burden heavier. God sees every struggle, every sleepless night, and every tear you’ve held back. He doesn’t expect you to carry it alone.
Today, pause and name the heaviness. Breathe into the truth that your strength does not come from shouldering it alone — it comes from leaning on Him and seeking support where needed.
Prayer:
Lord, I acknowledge the weight I am carrying. I surrender it to You, trusting that You will sustain me. Teach me to release what I was never meant to hold alone. Amen.
Journal Prompt:
What burdens are weighing you down right now? How does it feel to name them aloud or on paper?
Are you ready to lay down these burdens as we step into a brand new year?
