The Eternal GospelSample

Salvation is by Faith
When God preached the gospel to Abraham, promising him that "in your seed shall all nations of the earth be blessed", the response that God sought from Abraham was simple: faith.
Abraham believed the Lord, and it was counted to him as righteousness. This single act of faith, recorded in Genesis 15:6, established a foundational truth that echoes through all of Scripture: Salvation is by faith.
We need to know that Abraham was justified and declared righteous not by performing a work but by simply believing the promise of God. This makes Abraham the father of all who believe, providing an eternal pattern for how sinful humanity must receive the salvation promised through Christ by faith (Galatians 3:6-7).
Just as Abraham looked forward and believed in the provision God promised, we look back to the ultimate provision: Jesus Christ, the promised Seed. His sacrifice, His blood is the object of our faith.
The moment we place our faith in the sacrifice of the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world, we are declared righteous.
You can only receive salvation from sin by faith, by believing in the finished works of Christ, as established in Abraham as a pattern. Righteousness is a gift given freely to us in Christ Jesus. It cannot be earned by trying to do good or by living a moral life. Works are the evidence, not the cause.
No matter the extent of the sin you might have committed in the past, believe that what Christ has done is enough to save you. Your faith in Him is your salvation.
Prayer Focus:
Lord, I thank You that I do not have to earn my righteousness but receive it freely by believing in Jesus Christ. Help me to always walk by the same faith demonstrated by Abraham, trusting in Your complete provision for my life.
