Watching Against Offense in Prayer IV

Another way offence affects the effectiveness of prayer is on the aspect of receiving. It is important to understand that God, in His wisdom, is the one who chooses the channels of His answers. This is why you must ensure you are not walking in offense towards men. We don't always get to choose men God will use for us. We can only receive His choice.

There are folks whose pastor can no longer be a blessing to their lives because of offense. Some can hardly receive ministry from fellow saints due to offence. When you are walking in offense, you are narrowing your heart in receiving from God.

Hannah was wrongly accused by Eli for being drunk when she was actually emptying her heart to God (Read 1 Samuel 1:1-18). She could have felt insulted and taken offence, but she humbly explained herself. It was the utterance of the same anointed that sealed her miracle. The Devil understands this, reason he always seeks to plant the seeds of offence in people's hearts against God's anointed in their lives.

You see, offense is real. You don't have the power to stop it from coming your way. You can't control people's words, behavior or actions towards you. But you can control your response all the time. Practicing this will always keep you in the safe zone from the power of offence and position you to receive from God's ordained channels in your life.
