Watching Against Offense In Prayer III
It is impossible to pray according to God's will when we pray from an offended heart. When you allow offense to give direction or suggest your prayer points on a matter, you will inevitably pray outside the will of God. This is what has characterised many Christians' prayer life.
There are folks who are badly raised doctrinally and in practice on the subject of spiritual warfare. They pray for evil against their perceived human enemy. But we are not taught that in Christ. You see, Jesus told us to learn of Him. That is, we are to walk in the light of the revelation of His nature and life in us.
The Bible says we do not wrestle against flesh and blood or human enemies. We are rather taught in the Word to exercise authority over spiritual influence on human enemies. This is why it's called spiritual warfare. Our confrontation is not against men, but spirits influencing them.
We should not anticipate or pray evil against those who have wronged us. That is not a Christ-like thing to do! To pray in this manner is to pray contrary to the nature of Christ in us. God doesn't respond to such prayer. We only end up yielding our God given authority to the devil to afflict men.
Sound code:
Offense has no hold on me. I only walk in the reality of Christ's nature in me.
