Does the Devil Know Your Name? A 10-Day Brave Coaches JourneySample

Leaving a Legacy that Lasts
“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” 2 Timothy 4:7
“Our greatest fear should not be of failure, but of succeeding at something that doesn’t really matter.” – D. L. Moody
The story of Acts 19 ends with revival—sorcery scrolls burned, idols abandoned, the name of Jesus honored, and the Word spreading in power. That is legacy. Paul left behind a movement that outlived him. By contrast, the seven sons of Sceva left behind only shame and a cautionary tale. Two lives, two outcomes, two legacies.
We will all leave something behind. The question is not if you will leave a legacy, but what kind of legacy it will be. Will it be compromise or conviction? Will your children inherit excuses or faith? Will those who come after you remember a man who bowed to culture, or a man who bowed only to Christ? The devil knows the difference, and so will your descendants.
Paul’s testimony at the end of his life was clear: he fought, he finished, he kept the faith. That is the kind of epitaph every man should desire. Not wealth, not applause, not recognition, but faithfulness. When you finish well, you leave more than memories—you leave momentum for the next generation to build upon.
Legacy is not built in grand moments but in daily choices. Every prayer prayed, every Scripture studied, every temptation resisted, every act of service—these stack up into a reputation that outlives you. Your legacy is being written not in the spotlight, but in the ordinary faithfulness of each day.
Psalm 112:6 says, “Surely the righteous will never be shaken; they will be remembered forever.” Men who anchor their lives in righteousness become immovable. Their faith continues to speak long after they are gone. Like Abel in Hebrews 11:4, though dead, their faith still speaks.
Think about men of faith whose lives still echo—Abraham, who trusted God’s promises; Moses, who led God’s people with courage; Paul, who spread the gospel across nations. Their legacies endure because they gave their lives to something eternal. The same is true today. A father’s prayers, a grandfather’s convictions, a mentor’s obedience—these leave ripples that affect generations.
Hell fears men who build such legacies because their influence outlives them. Demons may oppose you in life, but when you pass on a heritage of faith, your impact multiplies beyond your years. Heaven celebrates such men because they not only finish their race but hand the baton to the next runner with strength and clarity.
When a man finishes well, both heaven and hell testify: here was a man who could not be bought, broken, or silenced. That’s the life that leaves an eternal mark. That’s the legacy every Brave man is called to pursue.
The Brave Truth: Your legacy will outlive you. Let it be one of conviction, courage, and faith that shakes hell and inspires heaven.
Action Step: Write a prayer of dedication, committing your life and legacy fully to God. Hand Him your race, your family, and your future.
Reflection Question: What kind of legacy am I leaving in the eyes of both heaven and hell?
