Here Comes the Son

DAY 5 OF 10

Light for Every Heart

From the beginning, God’s love has reached further than anyone could imagine. The prophet Isaiah described the coming of Jesus as a great light shining on those who lived in darkness. That light revealed God’s heart, a heart that longs for all people to know his love and live in freedom.

When Jesus was born, heaven announced that this was good news for everyone. The angel told the shepherds that the Saviour had come for all people, not just a few. The message of Christmas is still the same today. God’s love has no limits, and his grace is wide enough to embrace the entire world.

John writes that God loved the world so deeply that he gave his only Son so that everyone who believes in him could have eternal life. This is not a story about rules or religion. It is about a relationship with the God who came close. In Jesus, love became visible, and mercy took on a human face.

Everywhere Jesus went, he showed that love through action. He healed the sick, restored the broken, and welcomed those who had been forgotten. He reminded people that God had not turned away from them. Instead, he came near to lift them up.

The same light that shone in Bethlehem still shines today. It cannot be overcome by darkness. Wherever we carry that light through kindness, forgiveness, or compassion, the world changes. The presence of Jesus still brings warmth to cold hearts and hope to weary souls.

Spend a few minutes looking at a source of light, perhaps a candle or Christmas lights. As you watch it glow, remember that the light of Christ lives within you. Ask God to show you one way you can bring that light to someone this week through encouragement, prayer, or generosity.

About this Plan

Here Comes the Son

Here Comes the Son celebrates Jesus coming to earth as the fulfillment of God's plan to save humanity. It shows how God meets people where they are, ordinary or wise, young or old, and invites us to encounter him personally. This series reminds us that this is not just a story from the past but a present reality of hope, redemption, and love for all people.
