I'm New! What Do I Do?Sample

What Needs to Change?
Identifying and Allowing God to Transform You
When you gave your heart to God, you became new. God forgave and wiped away your sins. In this respect, you are holy and blameless before God. Yet we still struggle with sin (see Days 6 & 15). Even when we stumble, God’s love does not change. We are saved, and when we repent and return to Him, He will forgive and cleanse us.
Despite these truths, we may still have desires that are wrong, drawing us away from God and His ways. These desires can lead to actions contrary to God’s will.
The New Testament often contrasts actions done in the flesh versus actions done in the spirit. These actions are evident and can keep us from God. You can identify areas in your life—things you are doing or not doing—that need to change.
You may think, “But I’ve tried to change and I can’t!” Remember, you’re new. God will give you the power to change if you ask in prayer and make His will your treasure. Some changes happen slowly, some immediately—but don’t get discouraged. Stick with it. God will bring transformation so you will delight to do His will.
Prayer
In your own words, ask God to show you what you are doing—or not doing—that needs to change. Pray for His power and desire to follow His will in those areas. Listen for His guidance and write it down.
