What’s the Point of My Life?Sample

Introduction
You’ve probably asked it before—maybe quietly, maybe at 2 a.m., maybe on a random Tuesday: What’s the point of my life?
It’s an honest question. You wonder if you’re just going through the motions. You’re not alone.
Many Americans say they find meaning in family, work, or faith—but younger adults are most likely to report feeling unsure about what comes next or how to define a deeper purpose for their lives. (Pew Research Center, 2021)
And stress and uncertainty are rising. The Stress in America 2022 report found younger adults reported higher stress; many said they felt so stressed most days that they couldn’t function.
This 5-day journey isn’t about shallow motivation or vague spirituality, but real questions, honest Scripture, and a way to start finding answers.
Each day is designed to:
- Walk with you through real questions about meaning, identity, and direction
- Explore the ancient words of the Bible that speak directly to those questions
- Help you encounter God in the middle of your everyday life
We believe that when you encounter God through Scripture, you don’t just discover who he is—you begin to understand why you’re here.
Day 1: What’s the Point of My Life?
“What’s the point?” The question hits when you’ve done everything you were supposed to—school, job, bills—but something still feels off. Like you’re missing the answer to a question you didn’t know you'd asked.
Longing for something more isn’t a weakness. It’s a signal.
Modern life is full of motion—school, jobs, bills, and constant distractions—but sometimes it all feels a little … empty. Researchers from Harvard’s Human Flourishing Program found that a stronger sense of purpose predicts higher life satisfaction and lower depression and loneliness.
The Bible knew this long before the data. It shows us that the purpose of life isn’t something we must manufacture from scratch—it’s something we’re invited into. God’s plan is bigger than our careers or goals. It’s about knowing him, being known by him, and making a difference that truly matters.
What the Bible Says
“No one can please God without faith, for whoever comes to God must have faith that God exists and rewards those who seek him.” (Hebrews 11:6 GNT)
“Where could I go to escape from you? Where could I get away from your presence?” (Psalm 139:7 GNT)
“Seek your happiness in the LORD, and he will give you your heart’s desire.” (Psalm 37:4 GNT)
Consider This
The desire for meaning isn’t just emotional—it’s spiritual. The Bible teaches that God isn’t hiding. He invites us to seek him, and promises to respond. That’s not a poetic metaphor—it’s a real claim.
In a world that keeps us chasing the next thing, this may be the most radical truth of all: you don’t have to prove your worth. You don’t have to earn purpose. You were made for a relationship with God, who knows you fully, and still calls you forward. When you feel like your life doesn’t matter, remember that the God who created you also calls you—with purpose, and for a reason that matters.
