When Fear Meets Faith: Finding Strength in What Scares UsSample

Let’s be honest—sometimes the hardest part of following Jesus is wondering what people will think.
The Jewish leaders in John 12 believed in Jesus, but they kept quiet. Why? Because it would cost them. Their reputation. Their comfort. Their approval.
We feel that same tension today. Maybe it’s when we avoid hard conversations, water down our faith to fit in, or say yes when we know God wants us to say no.
But here’s the truth: the praise of people is temporary. The praise of God lasts forever. That doesn’t mean following Jesus won’t cost us—it might. But it’s always worth it.
Pray: Jesus, help me stop living for the approval of others. I want to care more about what you think than what anyone else thinks. Show me where fear is holding me back, and give me the courage to follow you fully. Amen.

About this Plan

Not all fear is the same. Some fear makes us hide, shrink back, or try to please people instead of following God. Other fear opens our eyes in wonder and awe at the God who made oceans, galaxies, and our very hearts. Face fear head-on in this Bible Reading Plan and learn when fear is right—and when it’s holding you back from the life God’s inviting you into.
