Day 4: Seen in Our Weakness

Scripture:
John 9:2 (KJV) — “And his disciples asked him, saying, Master, who did sin, this man, or his parents, that he was born blind?”

Devotional:
The disciples assumed what many people still believe: that good things happen to good people and bad things happen to bad people. When they saw the man born blind, they wanted to know whose sin had caused it. But Jesus turned their assumptions upside down.

The man who was blind couldn’t hide his weakness. He couldn’t disguise his vulnerability. In contrast, we often go to great lengths to cover up our struggles. We don’t let people see the hurts of our past, the battles we fight behind closed doors, or the pain that tortures us inside.

But when we are finally willing to open up, to expose our vulnerabilities, God’s power is revealed through our weakness. When we welcome Him into our pain, He develops strength within us. We don’t have to craft a story about ourselves for God to love us. He sees the real us — and still calls us His own.

Reflection Question:
What weakness or hidden pain have you tried to cover up, and what would it look like to invite God into that place today?

Prayer:
Lord, thank You for seeing me as I really am — not the version I present to others. Teach me to bring my weakness into Your presence, trusting that in those very places Your power and love are made known.
