Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year Two

DAY 170 OF 365

Nor is there salvation in any other (Acts 4:12 NKJV).

Are you following the right leader?

In Acts 4, Peter and John seek to lead the rebellious religious leaders to Jesus (Acts 4:5–21). Despite the leaders' rejection of Jesus, who alone can save, Peter and John remain steadfast in pointing to Him.

These two men recall how Jesus once challenged them when the multitudes rejected Him: “Then Jesus said to the twelve, ‘Do you also want to go away?’ But Simon Peter answered Him, ‘Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life’” (John 6:67–68 NKJV).

Peter and John chose to follow the right leader, and even directed the religious leaders to Jesus, the only way to God. This example encourages us to stay committed to Jesus, understanding that He alone has the words of eternal life. By doing so, we can guide others to the true source of salvation, demonstrating the importance of following the right leader.

Employment Point: Follow Jesus, who alone is the way to God.

About this Plan

Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year Two

Devotions on F.I.R.E. journeys through the Bible in one year. Each day includes a devotion based on Dr. Burge’s F.I.R.E. method of Bible Study. F.I.R.E. stands for Familiarity, Interpretation, Relationship, and Employment. The F.I.R.E. method and the daily devotions help readers remember and apply what they read as they fuel the fire in their hearts for God’s Word—adapted from the book Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year Two, by Dr. Ken J. Burge, Sr.
