A No-Excuses Faith
“You have so little faith,” Jesus said. “Why did you doubt me?”
Matthew 14:31, NLT
Jesus expects you to have faith in His promises even if times are tough. As soon as Jesus pulled sinking Peter out of the water, He spoke to him about his little faith. He then asked Peter why he doubted Him. According to Jesus, the wind was no excuse to have a lapse in faith. The Lord is looking for a no-excuses faith that realizes His power is greater than the strongest winds.
Charles Spurgeon offers a new perspective in life’s storms: “Your extremity is God’s opportunity. The difficulty all along has been to get to the end of you; for when a man gets to the end of himself, he has reached the beginning of God’s working.”
As you grow in your faith, you will discover the wind is never as strong as God and His Word. Let go of excuses, get out of the boat, and your faith will dance on the water with Jesus.
Lord, give me a no excuses kind of faith that gets out of the boat and walks on water with You. Amen.
