New Every Morning

The Lord’s loving kindnesses indeed never cease, for His compassions never fail. They are new every morning.

Lamentations 3:22-23, NASB 1995

Every morning, you can count on the sun’s glistening rays to brighten the day. Jeremiah, the weeping prophet, discovered a ray of hope in his trial. He found comfort knowing that God’s loving kindnesses make new appearances in life every morning. David poured out his prayers before God in the morning and then eagerly watched (Ps. 5:3, NASB). Why was David so eager to watch and wait after talking with God? He had discovered God’s amazing response.

Even in great trouble you can look forward to new expressions of God’s love, kindness, and compassion. Just when you think life may be over, God surprises you with unexpected answers. You may receive an encouraging phone call or a word of comfort from a verse in the Bible. Look expectantly each morning and keep your eyes open for God’s love. His compassionate heart can’t help but pour out blessings on His children. He promises.

Lord, thank You for the amazing promise that Your loving kindnesses and compassions are new every morning. Amen.
