35 Day Prayer Plan

DAY 13 OF 35

Day 13 – Interceding for the Persecuted

Jesus calls us to empathy that moves beyond sympathy. Hebrews 13:3 reminds us to remember the persecuted as if we lived in their shoes. To petition God for those facing oppression, imprisonment, or discrimination is to align our hearts with His, standing in solidarity with the suffering.

Praying for the persecuted stretches our compassion and challenges our comfort zones. It reminds us that the Christian faith is not about our personal well-being but focuses on the global body of Christ. The church suffers in many places for righteousness’ sake, and our prayers bring hope, strength, and encouragement to those who cannot pray freely.

When we lift others before God, we gain perspective. Our struggles may feel smaller, but we are reminded that God’s care is universal. He is a refuge for the vulnerable and a deliverer for the oppressed. Prayer becomes a tangible act of love, joining our hearts with God’s heart for justice, mercy, and protection.

Today, take time to pray specifically for Christians facing persecution around the world. Ask God to strengthen them, sustain their faith, protect them from harm, and pour out His comfort and courage. Let your heart move with compassion, imagining their struggles as if they were your own, and intercede boldly for those who cannot speak freely.
