Day 12 – Interceding for the Sick

Everywhere we look, people are carrying deep pain, grief, loss, illness, loneliness, or despair. Scripture reminds us that God is near to the brokenhearted, and as His people, we are called to bring their needs before Him.

Throughout Scripture, we see story after story of God performing miraculous healings: restoring sight to the blind, cleansing lepers, raising the dead, and giving strength to the broken. These accounts are not merely ancient records; they testify to the character of a God who heals. The same God that healed yesterday, heals today, and will heal tomorrow. He still moves in power, answers prayer, and performs miracles in extraordinary and quiet ways. Our faith is rooted not only in what He has done, but in the confident expectation of what He will continue to do.

Praying for the hurting is one way we reflect God’s compassion. Our prayers can bring comfort, hope, and healing even when we cannot fix the circumstances ourselves. Intercession, a prayer on behalf of someone, reminds us that no one suffers unseen; God sees, knows, and cares. Interceding with someone allows them to feel the camaraderie that comes from the interconnectedness we are supposed to have as Christians.

Jesus often stopped to heal the hurting, demonstrating the heart of the Father. When we pray for those in pain, we follow in His footsteps, asking that His presence bring peace and restoration.

Today, pray for those hurting, both those you know personally and those worldwide suffering. Ask God to be near them and bring His comfort and healing.
