Day 10 – Interceding for the Church

Paul’s opening passage to the Ephesians encapsulates the heart of the Christian church. He expresses his gratitude for them and appreciates their love and support toward one another and Him. Then he prays for them to receive wisdom from the Holy Spirit.

Paul then reminds them that the Holy Spirit that lives in them is the same Spirit that raised Christ Jesus from the dead and establishes Him as the leader and head of the church. The church is not just a gathering place but the living body of Christ. As such, it faces spiritual battles, challenges, and opportunities that require faithful intercession.

When we pray for the global church, we ask God to strengthen His people, empower leaders, and keep the gospel central. The enemy often targets unity, so our prayers can be a shield of protection and a catalyst for growth. Intercession for the church aligns us with God’s mission, reminding us that we are part of something larger than ourselves.

Every church has strengths and weaknesses, victories and struggles. Yet through prayer, God moves powerfully, guiding the church into greater faithfulness and fruitfulness.

Today, pray for your church, its leaders, ministries, and mission. Ask God to make it a clear reflection of His love and truth.
