The Legacy You’re Called to Build

Raffa grew up in church. He knew the right answers, the Bible verses, the way to smile and say he was fine. But none of it ever sank into his heart. As he got older, the performance gave way to partying—drinking, drugs, clubbing. His joy came from attention and adrenaline. Until one night, it all went too far. He overdosed.

Lying there, fading out, he cried out to God with one desperate plea: “Please don’t let me die.”

God didn’t because He wasn’t done.

That moment became the beginning of a new life. Not just a cleaner one, a transformed one. Raffa discovered that he wasn’t just someone who got a second chance. He was a son—loved, chosen, and sent. When you’ve accepted Jesus as your Savior, that’s who you are. You’re not defined by your past, you’re defined by your position in Christ. You are still His son.

Today Raffa is a man of God. A leader. A father. A builder of legacy. The same mouth that once lied and cursed now speaks truth and blessing over his family. The same life that once chased darkness now carries light into every room.

That’s what God does with a surrendered son. He rewrites the story and then He uses that story to impact generations.

You don’t have to be perfect to leave a legacy. You just have to let God rebuild what’s been broken. That starts by living like who you are:

Still His son.
Still called.
Still chosen.
Still in the story He’s writing, one that’s bigger than you and better than what you left behind.

Prayer:

Father, thank You for not letting me die in the places I should’ve. Thank You for calling me son when I had nothing to offer. I want to live like that matters. I want to leave something behind that points to You. Show me how to build a life worth passing on. Start with my heart. I am still Yours. In Jesus’ name, amen.
