And when they climbed into the boat, the wind died down. Then those who were in the boat worshiped him, saying, “Truly you are the Son of God.” - Matthew 14:32-33, NIV
How do we know that Jesus is who He claimed to be thousands of years ago? It’s one of the biggest questions both people of faith and people without faith find themselves asking in life. How do we know Jesus was the Son of God? How do we know He’s still at work in our lives today? How do we know we can trust Him in the face of our fears? The proof, as they say, is in the pudding. And for us, that metaphorical pudding comes in the form of all the good we’ve seen God do in our lives. For the disciples, that proof came when they saw Jesus walk on water and calm the storm around them. This wasn’t something just some guy could do. It was only something God Himself could manage. The more these guys saw Jesus do, the more their faith in Him grew.
And the same can be true for us! When we find ourselves questioning Jesus, fearing if what we believe to be true really is true, we can look back at all He’s done for us as proof. Start a conversation with a trusted friend, spouse, or your group. Talk about what God has done in your life and let it be a reminder of all He can still do. He is all He said He is and more!

About this Plan

Many Bibles highlight Jesus’ words in red. In the same way that we skim the newspaper to hit the headlines or train our eyes to instinctively find the highlighted passages in books, the red letters are there to help us see what’s most important on the page: the heart of Jesus’ words and teachings. We’ll look at just that—the red letters that make Jesus’ words pop off the page and come to life in our hearts as we pause, listen, and consider what He has to say.
