The Resurrection of the Dead

Will there really be a resurrection? Yes! The resurrection is central to our hope. Because Jesus rose from the dead, we too will rise. He is the first fruits, the model and the promise of what’s to come for every believer.

There will be two resurrections: the first for believers, and the second for unbelievers. Believers will be raised to eternal life with Christ, receiving glorified, recognizable bodies. We will still be “us,” but perfected, just as Jesus was after His resurrection. Unbelievers will also be resurrected, but they will face a different outcome, a final judgment and separation from God.

These truths should stir urgency and compassion in our hearts. They should remind us that eternity is not a myth or vague idea, it’s a reality we are heading toward. We can rejoice in the assurance that death does not have the final word. For those in Christ, eternal life has already begun.

And for those who do not yet know Jesus, we are called to intercede, to share the gospel, and to pray that their names will be written in the Book of Life. The resurrection is not just a theological concept, it’s a destiny-shaping truth.
