Praying With Women of the BibleSample

Rahab—A Prayer of Searching Faith
When we heard of it, our hearts melted in fear and everyone’s courage failed because of you, for the Lord your God is God in heaven above and on the earth below. Joshua 2:11NIV
Rahab entered a whole new life when she dared to turn from all she knew, and she embraced the God she had never met. Her story reveals the reality that no sin drives us out of the range of God’s grace. She came to God quickly as her heart embraced the fact that Yahweh, the God of Israel, created everything in heaven and on earth. What an example of a seeking and surrendered heart!
No one is beyond the grace, love, and hope that is found in the God who offers forgiveness to prostitutes like Rahab. Our sin may be great, but God’s grace is bigger!
Thank God for His grace in your life, and pray for one person you love who is not a follower of Jesus. Ask God to show this person His love and grace.

About this Plan

Join Sherry Harney as you reflect on many prayer styles by showing how biblical accounts of women in different circumstances spoke to God. You'll be encouraged by the examples we are given in Scripture of women who went before us and share in our common needs for prayer and communion with a holy and gracious God.
