God’s Strengthening Word: Learning From Biblical TeachingsSample

Introduction
Luke 12:13-21: In today’s reading, Jesus delivers a parable about a rich fool that warns against placing one’s trust in earthly wealth.
Today’s Key Verse: Luke 12:15b GNT
[Jesus said:] “Watch out and guard yourselves from every kind of greed, because your true life is not made up of the things you own, no matter how rich you may be.”
Reflect
Why does Jesus warn about the need to guard against greed (verse 15)? Have you been through a time of prosperity when you were tempted to think like the rich man? What is your understanding of what it means to be “rich in God’s sight” (verse 21)? What can you learn from today’s reading?
Pray
Lord Jesus, you are the true source of life. Guide me each day in the way of your truth as I seek to be rich in God’s sight. Amen.
Tomorrow’s Reading
Luke 12:22-40: Jesus teaches about putting one’s trust in God.
