When You’re Excluded and UninvitedSample

Take the High Road of Forgiveness
Unforgiveness is a trap. It promises control and justice, but in reality, it keeps you bound to the pain you’re trying to escape. Holding onto bitterness may feel justified in the moment, but it slowly hardens your heart and clouds your peace.
Forgiveness isn’t about saying what happened was okay. It’s not about forgetting or pretending it didn’t hurt. It’s about choosing freedom over resentment. When you forgive, you’re not letting someone off the hook—you’re letting yourself off the hook. You’re refusing to let what someone did to you keep defining you.
Taking the high road of forgiveness means extending grace even when it’s not asked for. It means choosing mercy when you have every reason not to. That’s not weakness—it’s powerful. It’s not about how they respond; it’s about how you choose to live.
Bitterness grows silently and spreads quickly. It doesn’t just affect your relationship with that one person—it can overflow into other parts of your life. But when you forgive, healing begins. You make space for joy, peace, and freedom to return.
Don’t wait for an apology to release someone. Choose grace—for their sake, and yours.
Respond to God’s Word:
Is there someone you’re still holding in your heart with resentment or hurt? Write down their name and pray a simple prayer: “I choose to forgive. I release them and the pain they caused. Help me walk in grace.” The high road may be hard, but it always leads to freedom.
