EquipHer Vol. 27: "The Trenches in Life"Sample

Day 5 – Forge Forward!
“For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many.” (Mark 10:45, NIV)
If there is one truth the trenches teach us, it is this: what we go through is not just about us. Every struggle endured, every hardship faced with God by our side, holds potential that goes beyond our personal story. We are forged by God in seasons of difficulty not only to become stronger, but to become useful for His Kingdom—to build an eternal legacy.
The trenches you have faced and your journey of faith are not only for you—they are designed to be a resource for others. Every battle won, every area in which you have been refined, carries a purpose that reaches beyond your individual life.
This is what it means to serve: to allow God to use your story as a living testimony to others. Our testimony has the power to bear fruit and help pull someone out of their trench - creating an impact that outlives us.
Jesus Himself gave us the ultimate example: He did not come to be served, but to serve. If the Son of God chose service as the highest expression of His mission (Mark 10:45), how much more are we called to do the same—with our resources, our experiences, and our voices?
Do not hold back what you have walked through—use it. Share it. Offer it. There is always someone searching for hope in the very places you have already walked out of.
Every trench walked through with faith is preparation for something greater. We are not forged only to endure—we are forged to serve. Through serving, we leave behind a legacy that extends beyond our lives and brings glory to God.
Reflective Questions:
- In what ways can the "trenches" you have faced be used to serve those around you?
- Which aspects of your personal or professional journey could encourage another woman today?
Prayer:
Lord, thank You for turning my trenches into a powerful testimony of Your faithfulness. I do not want to keep for myself what You have done in my life—I want to offer it to others, to help, to encourage, and to inspire. Make me a woman who builds, who leads, who leaves behind a spiritual legacy for Your glory. Give me a heart ready to serve, wherever You call me. Amen.

About this Plan

The “trenches” of life—those silent seasons where nothing seems to move, effort feels constant, and there is little visible fruit—are often the very ground where God strengthens our character and prepares us for something greater. In this devotional plan, you will learn to recognize the value of walking in the trenches and how God is using it as a place of preparation for greater purpose.
