Holy Week - a Guide to PrayerSample

Welcome to day 1 of Holy Week: A Guide to Prayer. We're so glad that you're here!
Holy Week is the days leading up to the celebration of Easter. Our hope for this daily guided prayer during Holy Week is to take intentional time to reflect on all that Jesus has done for us, to help us grow in the discipline and rhythm of prayer, and to grow in understanding of why it matters and what it means to pray.
Whether you are new to faith or have been following Jesus for a long time, this is a space for you.
So, I want to invite you to find a comfortable place. Set aside any distractions. Prepare your heart and mind to receive whatever God has for you today.
Prayer is simply an opportunity to talk with God, to express to him our needs and our dreams. Our gratitude and our hurt. The highs and lows of life. Whatever it is, whatever you're experiencing, prayer is a way for you to invite God into your life.
Take a deep breath in…and out.
Today, let's take a moment to be reminded of the peace that is found in and through Jesus.
Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7
Is there anything that you’re worried about today? Is there anything that you’re anxious about?
Maybe it’s a sickness or a relationship. Maybe it’s trying something new. Maybe it’s stepping into a new job or wondering what to do in the midst of a lost job.
Whatever it is, we can pray to a God today who hears us and knows us. A God that left perfection and stepped in our circumstances and world to bring hope, to bring peace, and to bring freedom. And it’s through his death and resurrection that we have life.
Prayer For the Day
Jesus, I give you my worries today. I give you my dreams today. I acknowledge my need for you. And, in this moment, I ask for your peace—peace that surpasses all understanding. Thank you for loving me so much that you would give your life for me.
It's in your name we pray,
Amen
