Gospel of John Student DevotionalSample

Have you ever felt like you’re stuck in a dark tunnel, desperately reaching for the light? Or maybe you're trapped in a deep hole, searching for a way out. Life can sometimes feel overwhelming like we're drowning in pain, suffering, or sadness. And in those moments, we wonder, Is there any way out of this? Will it ever end?
The answer is simple: yes. Jesus is the light. He’s not just waiting for us at the end of the tunnel; He’s right there with us in it, shining his light. But often, when we need Him most, we turn away. Maybe the world has blinded us, filling our minds with lies and pressures, shaping us into something we were never meant to be. Perhaps the people closest to us say things that drown out the truth of who we are in Christ. So, we dig ourselves deeper into our hole, thinking God is far away—when in reality, he’s right there, waiting for us to turn to Him.
Have you ever been so far from God that you don’t even recognize his work in your life? Or maybe you’re not a Christian, and the idea of Jesus working miracles feels distant or unfamiliar. The truth is, whether we realize it or not, Jesus has been walking with us every step of the way. He’s been working in our lives, shaping our stories, even when we haven’t noticed.
If we let the world blind us, we lose sight of Jesus. We forget who he is and what he’s already done for us. But no matter how far we’ve run, he’s still there, ready to forgive, ready to save. All we have to do is ask. We need to invite Him into our tunnel, into our storms, into our struggles.
“One thing I do know. I was blind but now I see.” (John 9:25)
Let Jesus into your situation, and he will bring light into it. He will take your pain and struggles and use them for good. The question is, will you choose to see the light He offers?
